Adobe rolls out a public Beta program for Creative Cloud desktop apps

Adobe posted on its blog on 19th March that it will roll out a public beta program for the Adobe video and audio apps in the Creative Cloud Desktop app. The blog also informed that only a small group of users will be able to avail this golden opportunity as of now.

However, this does not relinquish the rest of Adobe users. The Beta program will be rolled out increasingly over the upcoming few months until it is available to all Creative Cloud members.

“Public Beta provides an opportunity to engage directly in product development, allowing interested users to test new fixes and features before they are released and shared their feedback with the Adobe product teams” explained the Adobe blog.

Though the Beta program will not be available on a stretch to include all of the Adobe apps, only a selected few will fall under the program. The program includes Beta builds of Premiere Pro, Premiere Rush, After Effects, Audition, Character Animator, and Media Encoder.

As mentioned above, the public Beta will roll out incrementally. As of now, the new members are being chosen randomly. However, the Beta program would not be limited to those randomly chosen few. Adobe plans on making the beta builds available across the board for all Creative Cloud members over the coming months.

To check if you have access to the Beta program, you need to head over to the Creative Cloud Desktop client. When you’re added, you will see the “Beta apps” tab in the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

The blog post further read, “Public Beta is an important part of our commitment to deliver world-class applications that run across a wide range of system configurations. Whether you choose to participate or not, all users will benefit from an expanded test base and user feedback during product development.”

Beta builds install separately from release builds and have their own user preferences. You can run them side by side with your release versions. New Beta builds are released frequently, sometimes even on a daily basis, however, each comes with its separate user preferences.
