6 Activewear Trends Blowing Up at Free People, Shopbop, and Amazon

One of the many effects that staying at home has had on my wardrobe is my newfound love and appreciation for all things activewear. While I've always prided myself on having a few cute workout sets on hand, it wasn't until recently that I realized just how badly this area of my closet needed an update. Pre-quarantine, I only wore leggings or bike shorts to attend a workout class a few times a week, but now that I'm integrating at-home workouts daily (shout-out to my Obé Fitness subscription), my need for more exciting workout gear has exploded.

So the more I shop for new workout clothes, the more I notice the same few activewear trends repeated across the same few sites. Some of my go-to places to shop for workout clothes include Free People for its pretty pieces, Shopbop for its elevated selection, and Amazon for all its more affordable buys. All three of their activewear sections happen to be leaning into the following six activewear trends, which tells me that they're the most important ones right now. From pastel colors to comfy seamless pieces, discover and shop each trend ahead.

For anyone who, like me, has tired of their plain black pieces, the surge of pastel colors such as lilac, aqua, and peach feels especially fresh.
Trust me—once you try out activewear sans seams, you're not going to want to turn back to anything else. It might be a subtle detail, but seamless leggings, sports bras, and tanks are some of the comfiest out there.
We've called out this trend before, but it can't hurt to mention it once more seeing as more and more of these yoga-style one-pieces are flooding the market. Style one like fashion girls are doing with tall socks and throwback sneakers for a retro-sporty vibe.
Who remembers when we called leggings yoga pants? Well, these flare and bootcut pairs are bringing me right back to those days—and threatening to replace my basic skinny leggings.
There are bike shorts, and then there are these. Ultra short with a high rise, these are traditionally what runners and dancers wear on the reg, but now they're becoming a full-blown trend, and even Hailey Bieber is on board.

Time to toss your oversize tees when hitting the gym. These long-sleeve crop tops are the answer to cute tops that offer more coverage than a sports bra alone but are actually stylish. Plus, some of them come with those thumbholes for an even sportier look.

Next up, seven things that make a basic tank top look exceptionally cool.
