Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson tests positive for COVID19 in Australia

WHO officials have given the Coronavirus the pandemic status– the virus is likely to spread to all countries over the globe. Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the situation will worsen. As of 11th March 2020, 114 countries have reported that 118,000 have contracted Covid-19, and nearly 4,300 people have died.

A few countries have declared a state of emergency, and schools, colleges, universities, offices will remain closed until the deadly virus is contained.

Amidst all of the pandemonium, Hollywood actor Tom Hanks announced on Instagram that he along with his wife, Rita Wilson, has been tested positive for Coronavirus in Australia. The message posted by Hanks had no trace of panic and sounded almost soothing.

His message reads, “Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus and were found to be positive.

Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety require. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?

We’ll keep the world posted and updated.

Take care of yourselves!”

According to the World Health Organization, in Australia, there are currently more than 120 confirmed cases of coronavirus, and the Australian government announced an $11.4 billion economic plan to support the country’s economy.

The couple is now in isolation in a Gold Coast hospital. The health officials in Australia would conduct contact tracing to determine who came in close contact with the two couples, and they will be isolated and put in quarantine until further notice.
