SPNI gets MIB nod to add to more channels to Sony Ten bouquet
Sony Picture Networks India has got the green signal to add two more channels to its rich bouquet of sports.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has granted Sony Pictures Network India permission to replace the discontinued Le Plex HD and Sony Rox HD channels with the Ten 4 and Ten 4 HD. The discontinued pay-TV HD channels were broadcasting premium Hollywood movies and music.
The MIB had approved Ten 4 and Ten 4 HD channels in the non-news category for downlinking content in English, Hindi or other Indian languages. Even as the broadcaster has not revealed its content plans for the new sports channels, it is believed that Ten 4 may become SPNI’s first regional screen for sports content.
