A man in North Carolina was charged with threatening President Joe Biden, a federal criminal complaint said.

David Kyle Reeves called the White House switchboard multiple times between January 28 and February 1, 2021 and threatened Biden and others, according to the complaint.

On February 1, 2021, a Secret Service agent called Reeves to talk about the threats, and Reeves called him back multiple times continuing to make threats, the complaint said.

Prosecutors accused Reeves of saying: "I am going to f-----g kill you all, F--k the White House. I am going to chop your heads off."

Reeves also told the agent he would kill everyone in the world and even requested that the Secret Service pick him up and take him to the White House so he "can punch the President in the face, sit in his chair, and stay there until he dies," the complaint said.

According to the complaint cited in a US Justice Department press release, Reeves also called the Capitol Police repeatedly, making similar threats.

North Carolina Judge David Keesler ordered Reeves to remain in custody. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
