• A US Capitol police officer died Thursday due to "events stemming from" the attempted insurrection in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, CNN reported.
• The officer's death marks the fifth confirmed fatality in connection with Wednesday's violence, in which violent Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol building, overwhelming police.
• One woman was fatally shot by police, while three people died due to medical emergencies.
