Honor 30S unveiled; scheduled to launch on April 7 in China

Huawei announced its latest P-series, and its sub-brand Honor also introduced a new smartphone the Honor 30S. The new smartphone, besides being the lowest priced smartphone from the 30 series packs some series specs.

The Honor 30S sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS display with a punch-hole on the top left corner design. It runs on the Kirin 820 5G chipset which packs an eight-core architecture with four ARM-Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.84GHz alongside four ARM-A76 cores with varying clock speeds.

The GPU department is covered by the six-core Mali-G57 and there’s also the Kirin ISP 5.0 image signal processor that will make sure that this low-cost smartphone delivers performance almost the same as one of the flagship smartphones. It furthermore comes with an advanced noise reduction technique.

Following the latest fad of including a quad camera on the back of the smartphones, Honor 30S too comes with a quad-camera set up. The camera setup consists of a 64 MP main sensor, an 8 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and up to 20x hybrid zoom, and 8 MP ultrawide shooter, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The punch-hole display houses the selfie camera which is 16MP.

The smartphone will run on Magic UI 3.1.1 based on Android 10 without GMS service. It runs on a 4,000 mAh battery that comes with 40W fast charging support. As for the unlock key, the right-hand side of the smartphone houses the fingerprint scanner.

The Honor 30S is being offered in four colors: black, blue, green, and gradient colors. The smartphone will be available in two variants based on the storage capacity. The 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage variant is priced at CNY 2,399, and the 8GB RAM + 256GB of internal storage variant is priced at CNY 2,699. It will officially go on sale on April 7.
