Sharp Corp’s next 5G smartphone, Aquos R5G to release in Spring 2020

Sharp Corp.’s next smartphone is set to launch in Japan this spring. Ahead of its release, the smartphone manufacturer released the specifications of the same.

The new smartphone called the Sharp Aquos R5G will be able to capture overwhelming realism with the 16 times higher resolution than HD, with the super high-definition 8K shooting mode.

Moreover, the smartphone comes packed with four cameras set up on its back. The four cameras consist of a telephoto camera, a super-wide camera, a standard camera, and a ToF camera. The super wide-angle camera can shoot any video at the 8K resolution.

The Aquos R5G features a 6.5-inch liquid crystal display, and the screen will be able to showcase 1 billion colors using the Pro IGZO technology. The high definition of the display screen comes compatible with Dolby Vision. The smartphone automatically adjusts the display optimal brightness for each video content.

The smartphone also comes equipped with support for Adobe RGB, making the content more color precise.

Sharp Aquos R5G comes preinstalled with Adobe Photoshop Express making editing easier.

The smartphone runs on a high-performance CPU and comes with 12GB of RAM. The fact that the phone is the first 5G phone from this Japanese smartphone manufacturer, calls for the high-performance of the CPU. The 5G data speed which is 100 times faster than the 4G speed can download a movie in just seconds.

The company has not set a release date for the smartphone and has not mentioned any launch date for the same. Japan’s major telecommunication carriers, KDDI Corp. and SoftBank Corp. plan to start 5G services around March and NTT Docomo Inc. has said it will introduce 5G in spring. Keeping this fact that most of the Japanese companies will start their 5G services either in Spring or late in March, we can assume that the Sharp Aquos R5G will come out around the same time.
