Google Contacts makes it possible to access unsaved contacts

Google has introduced a small tweak through which its users will now be able to view unsaved contact information in the “Contacts” app. Google usually records and maintains the information of the email addresses a user sends.

Despite the presence of this recorded information, before the latest update, there was no option to access this data from the app on the Android platform. With its recent update, Google makes this possible, however with certain limitations. The unsaved details will be visible only in the search results.

If you start searching for a particular person, the app will first suggest the saved contacts as usual. But now it will also show the option of “Other Contacts” with the data picked from different Google Accounts. Once you select a contact the details linked to it will be displayed and you can proceed to either permanently save it, or just make a single call.

This update is available in the latest “Contacts” v3.17.1. You can get the app from Google Play Store or from the APK Mirror website.
