Yuvraj Singh-backed Healthians acquires Healthy Labs team
Healthians, backed by Yuvraj Singh, has acquired the entire team of Healthy Labs. The acqui-hire deal includes founder Nikhil Jadhav and 30 employees.
Aiming expansion, Healthians are targeting acqui-hiring at a large scale. Healthy Labs is the first deal in the process, Economic Times has reported health diagnostics star-up founder as saying. The Healthy Labs acqui-hire will help Healthians expand their business in south Indian cities.
“We have acqui-hired a Maharashtra-based logistics company. As part of this, we have given an undisclosed equity to its founder,” Healthians founder and CEO Deepak Sahni has told the business daily.
“We will continue to take this route of acqui-hiring to expand to cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Bhopal and Ahmedabad,” Sahni said.
As part of the deal, Jadhav will be joining Healthians as an assistant vice president.
Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Ventures in 2015 had invested an undisclosed amount in the health diagnostics firm Healthians.
The company is reportedly setting aside a corpus of ₹35 crore for other acqui-hires over the next couple of years. Healthians is also in the process of raising fresh funds of about $15 million from investors.
“We are in the process of raising funds and this would be over in a couple of months,” Sahni said. “We are looking at acquiring companies that have at least a 15-member team. Acqui-hiring saves time to train people as a readymade pool is available, and one can easily expand operations.”
Healthians, which started with Delhi NCR, has operations across 30 cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Dehradun, Jaipur, Panipat, Ambala, Karnal, Mohali, Panchkula, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Amritsar. Healthians has a few proprietary tools such as Health Karma, Health Tracker and AI-based reports.
