Gill emulating Kohli, Raina song BCCI’s most-watched video tweets of 2018
More than eight million people follow the Board of Control for Cricket in India on twitter. For Virat Kohli the figure is close to 28 million. So when Kohli is on twitter the post becomes a rage in natural course. A post about Kohli on the BCCI official handle @BCCI will attract enough views to be among the trends on twitter.
But when Kohli plays a special act and a next gen champion Subhuman Gill emulates the feat, the comparative video becomes a rage. That is the most-watched video of the year on the BCCI twitter handle @BCCI.
Kohli has struck and short-arm jab off England medium Chris Waokes over the wide mid-on – a typical Kohli act of creating something unconventional, unexpected and yet classic. Others would have gone for a pull on the delivery. The shot that was beyond imagination for others was emulated by the rising Indian star Shubhman Gill few days later at the ICC Under-19 World Cup against Zimbabwe.
Kolhi has come a long way to be the batting sensation that he is now, and Gill has a long way to go. But the shot from the blade of the teenager’s bat that caught the imagination of the cricket world was put in a split frame with the Kohli classic by the BCCI and shared on its official twitter handle @BCCI with the caption @imVkohli invents short-arm jab & @RealShubmanGill reproduces it #TeamIndia. The video has been the most watched for the year on the account.

The next comes the sprint between two greatest fielders in the India camp – skipper Kohli and Sir Ravindrasinh Ji Jadeja during the one-day international series against the West Indies. The duo with this pace and agility showed the reflexes, speed and fitness to set a sprinting track ablaze. The BCCI has shared the video with the caption “ One of the most viewed videos from 2018 – The running race @imjadeja vs @imVkohli”
If you thought Kohli won the race. Hold on. Watch the video in the link below.

This has not been a year for Suresh Raina worth any significant feat on the field. But off the field, Raina stole the show with the Hindi song “ye sham mastani madhosh kiye jaye…” The melodious voice and rhythm had left many a people madhosh (like being under the influence of alcohol – drunk) indeed.
