Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) is, undoubtedly, one of the best games of all time. Developed by Valve Corporation and Hidden Path Entertainment, the game is the latest addition to the Counter-Strike series. CS: GO has added some new weapons and kept some of the old favorites. Let us take a look at the weapons available to the Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists.

Quick draw, aim and fire Handguns

Handguns are the most primary weapons for both factions. The Heckler and Koch P2000 has replaced the old H&K USP Tactical. It's exclusively available to Counter-Terrorists at the start. The new R8 revolver is the second most powerful handgun. Further, the Desert Eagle remains the most powerful. Intratec TEC-9 and CZ 75 Auto are new additions. The former is semi-auto and the latter fully-automatic.

Give them lead, kill them dead Shotguns

High damage, bad range, that's the shotgun mantra. The Benelli Nova Tactical replaces the M3. The shot-grouping makes it the most effective. Terrorists get a sawed-off shotgun. Both the damage and fire-rate are high, but the range is terrible. Use it only at close quarters. Counter-Terrorists get a new gun as well. The MAG-7 has lower damage than the sawed-off, but a faster reload-rate.

Rush them, flush them, gun them down Sub-machine guns

Sub-machine guns are preferred by players who quickly rush towards enemies and spray them with bullets. The P90 is the most notorious in this category. It has a high armor-piercing value, firing-rate, and ammo capacity. The MP7 is the heaviest weapon in this category and bound to slow you down. We recommend instead the new MP5. It has slightly lesser damage but better mobility.

The best category of weapons for kills Assault Rifles

Assault rifles are a favorite category among players. For Terrorists, the Galil AR replaces the IDF Defender. The AK-47 remains the best assault rifle for Terrorists because of its high stopping power. However, players should mind the recoil. The M4A4 replaces the M4A1 as the favorite for Counter-Terrorists. However, unlike previous games, it no longer has a suppressor. Tough luck for stealth killers.

Shoot to thrill Snipers

Snipers are preferred by players with good shot accuracy. The Arctic Warfare Police or AWP remains the player favorite. Old-timers may remember it as Magnum Sniper. It deals the heaviest damage but has a slow reload time. The Schmidt Scout has been replaced by SSG 08. It remains low-damage, as before. Two new snipers have been introduced, GS3G1 for Terrorists and SCAR-20 for Counter-Terrorists.

Go on a rampage but you could die FACT

The Negev and M249 are heavy machine guns available to Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists respectively. These guns have plenty of bullets and high-fire rate. Players can spray and pray but the accuracy is not high. Other downsides include very low mobility and slow reload time.
